I Can't Generate Api Keys Woocommerce

  • Hi everybody,

unfortunately I cannot generate a REST API key on our site.

    My steps:

    • Go to ‘WooCommerce -> Settings’
    • Click on ‘Advanced’
    • Click on ‘Rest API’
    • Insert description, user and Read/Write
    • I expected generated keys to show up including the QR code, but instead nothing happens, just a reload of the page.

I am sure I have the Rest API enabled.I am using the latest version of WooCommerce and WordPress.
I have already done debugging by disabling all plugins and enabling only Woocommerce and WordPress. Unfortunately the problem still exists then.

Only on the REST API Settings Page the Conosle reports the following errors in backbone.js: Screenshot

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘extend’ of undefined
      at backbone.min.js:1

Dirt rally serial key generator. Uncaught ReferenceError: Backbone is not defined
      at api-keys.min.js:1

Does anyone have an idea where the problem might be?

Thanks for the help and greetings
      Chris

Aug 19, 2019 Generate Keys. To start using REST API, you first need to generate API keys. Go to WooCommerce Settings Advanced; Go to the REST API tab and click Add key. Give the key a description for your own reference, choose a user with access to orders etc, and give the key read/write permissions. Click Generate api key. Users with Manager permissions can generate and view their own API keys. Users with Admin permissions can also see API keys for other account users.

The keys in the latest version of WC (certainly in 2.4.7, but not sure when it changed) are stored in a separate table wpwoocommerceapikeys and not in the user meta. I've not yet found an API to get at this, but accessing the table directly will give you the consumer key, secret and permissions for any user with an API token. Can’t edit or add variations in woocommerce. Tonib (@tonib) 2 years, 7 months ago. Hi, I have taken on the task of updating this site from someone else. I’m not able to create another variation for the annual conference registration, edit an existing one, or see what products have already been added through the products settings.

  • I’m developing a plugin for an existing site for customers to design custom T-Shirts, which will then get added to the WooCommerce basket/processed as an order.

I’ve copied the theme to a local installation (i.e WAMP) and I’m currently working on it locally.

My problem is in generating API keys specifically for WooCommerce. Whenever I fill in the details and generate one, the loading/circle animation happens indefinitely so I can’t see the key details to use for authorisation. If I refresh it’ll display the created key with the abbreviated consumer key, but I can’t view full details.

Tested it with the live site in case I’d done something wrong with my local installation but it’s having the same problem.

Struggling to find an answer so any help would be appreciated.

WooCommerce Serial Numbers enable your store to sell WooCommerce license keys, any kind of gift cards, physical products that include a serial number or license key, digital software with access keys, username & password, tickets, lotteries, pin codes almost any kind of secret number based products. 2 days ago  Go to the Key/Apps tab and enter the Key Description, select the permission you want (for the purpose of this tutorial, I have selected Read/Write). Now click the Generate API Key button. You will get the API Key, API Secret and QR code to scan, I will use these keys in the future to work with the WooCommerce REST API.
